Best way to clean shoes and helmet

Can anyone recommend the best way of cleaning bike shoes as well as the inside pads (non-removable) of a (giro) helmet?

At least im not a glory supporter.. Only support a team that wins things thats just sad.. Just remember Liverpool are still the most decorated team in the United Kingdom.. When united (not worthy of capital letters) have won 5 Euro titles and 19 league titles then maybe we can talk

Look on the manufacturers website or your pamphlets you got with the products.

 

I have a Bell and the wife a Giro. We soak them in cold water with a wee bit of detergent and agitate them in the water. Hang them up in a breezy pace away from the sun untill dry.

 

We also have Deodora MTB shoes. Scrub them with an long handled soft brush and some Sunlight Liquid. Rinse them well and dry out of the sun in a breezy pace. Never ever ever dry these items with heat or in the sun.

Oom has pretty much summed it up. just i use shampoo on the helmet padding (smells better) ;-)

i just wash my helmet in the shower using the shampoo that i use on my head and i have never washed my shoes.

for mtb shoes if you have just come back from a muddy ride,leave them on,rinse with a hose and scrub with a scrub brush

take your helmet into the shower with you, easy way to wash it.

as for shoes, give them a good wipe down/scrub with a soapy rag after EACH ride. when they really start to bark back at you, toss em into the washing machine and pray the quality is good enough to stop them unravelling.
