54cm frame - SM or ML?

Hi,

 

I'm wanting to get back into road cycling and would love some feedback please.

 

I'm a 54cm - what dictates the choice between SM or ML sized frame?

What brand frame you talking about? Giant? Go for a bike fit and see what suits you best. Also plenty threads on this. There was one last week, Can't remember what it was called.

Depends on bike brand.

My perfect fit is a 53.5cm so in most brands I'm a 54

Except Giant where I ride a small( which is a 53.5)

Or Colnago where I ride a 50( which is also a 53.5 TT)

Most will say that TT length on modern road bikes is most important.

Different brands have different geometries and size labels, but correct TT length will see you happy more often than not.

Im 1.78m and I would go for the M/L being a 54cm. Currently riding a Large Lynskey
