SRAM XLoc Remote Lockout Servicing

Anybody know where I can purchase the following to service the XLoc hydraulic lockout system:

1. RockShox Standard Bleed Kit ( I assume it is the same as the Reverb Bleed Kit from the pics I see on the web )

2. Reverb Hydraulic Fluid (Any other options available here?)

I also saw this notice in the service manual:

The XLoc damper remote lockout uses a specific hydraulic hose that is compatible with the system’s Reverb™ Hydraulic Fluid. • Do NOT use hydraulic brake fluid or mineral oil in the XLoc system. Only use Reverb Hydraulic Fluid. • Do NOT use hydraulic brake bleed tools to bleed the XLoc system. Only use the RockShox Standard Bleed Kit. • To optimize performance of the bleed kit tools, clean the syringes with soap and water after each use and let them dry completely.

I used the same bleed kit I use for my SRAM guide brakes. Worked perfectly.

I also used the same Motul 5wt suspension oil I use in the damper of my RS-1. So far so good

A good way to earn yourself a full damper and lever rebuild, possibly replacement.

DOT fluid and mineral oil are not compatible. The seals are different, and will swell and leak if the wrong fluid is used.

You *may* be able to use the same fittings and syringes *if* you clean everything thoroughly with alcohol before and after, and replace the seals on the syringes with nitrile for mineral oil and EPDM for brake fluid. But rather get the right tool for the job.

I cleaned everything thoroughly before doing this. I did not want to mess anything up...

It was an emergency job at 8pm so had to make a plan

From what I researched so far, normal 2.5Wt suspension oil will be fine for the lockout. Droo, if I do not come right with that kit at my LBS (Velolife or Williams), I will get in contact with you.

Luckily (well, sort of) all our bikes have XT or XTR brakes, so no chance of re-using their bleeding kit with this one for the XLoc or Reverb.

You can use Shimano mineral oil in the levers when the RS stuff runs out.

Got sorted. Darryn gave me a bleed kit for pasella, and I got Motul 2.5W fork oil from Yamaha. Apparently the bleed kit comes with each Reverb purchase, so they have them laying about.

Took me and the boy 10 minutes to get the lockout working again.
