Who pays shipping? Repair under warranty

I didn't see anything in the t&c's relating to my question, hence this post.

I'm to old to read the fine print but in my experience you pay for the shipping to wherever it goes to get fixed / replaced and they pay to return it to your nearest dealer or if you lucky your address.

In my line of work we deal with similar situations and if it's a new part the above applies and if it's not a new part but still covered by some kind of warranty you pay both directions. Shipping is usually between the dealer and OEM, it's your responsibility to deliver to the dealer and pick up from the dealer.

A lot depends on your relationship with either the dealer or OEM, they can make a plan if they want to but generally the TC's put some burden on you.

Yah, I was about to say the same..........then I saw your post.

We worked exactly the same way with our pumps, the customer got it to the dealer and from there we paid transport to us and back to the dealer. If the customer dealt directly with us it would be the same.

For warranty parts the customer was installing themselves usually we just asked for a photo of the damaged part then we sent the new part at our cost. If it was under a warranty or sometimes a maintenance contract we paid all the costs to get it to the customer and install.

In my opinion this is part of the costs an agent or distributor should be seen to carry.

If you bought it less than 6 months ago, the CPA kicks in. To my knowledge, the CPA pushes all related costs on the seller (ie, the Bike Shop). In turn, the bike shop has right of recovery from the supplier.
