I'm sure you right, the XD driver is needed for 10-50 Eagle cassette, however the Sunrace 11-50 works with normal driver, with a 34T oval, decent spread of gearing there.

There is no right or wrong answer as to what you should ride or buy, but rather opinions that stem from personal preference.

I still enjoy my 2×10 gearing for various reasons, for one the ability to move from very high to very low gears in 1 shift of the front derailleur.

Although there is no denying that 1×12 gearing covers the same range as 2×10 there will be bigger gaps between gears that I'm not willing to live with yet.

I will most likely only change from 2×10 if I buy a bike with different gearing, but thats just my subjective view.

As usual you're best call of action will be to try and find two or three bikes equipped with the different groupsets you are interested in and try to test them on the same trail so you can get a feel for each and decide for yourself wich would suit you best.

Don't you need the correct driver for your hub (that's IF it's compatible) to run GX Eagle as well?

True - you are correct, was basing this on my experience on upgrading from a Sram 1 x 11 to Sram 1 x12.
