Anyone know what the seeding for this race is based on?

Finding myself seeded much further back than I'd like for this weekend :(

It's an ASG event, so they have their own seeding index. Check the website to see your index and the events used. You can add non-ASG events to help your seeding out.

Whatever that is, it is f_d up. My wife and her sister got seeded in A batch. Her sister never ever did a race longer than 30kms.

BTW, can the riders ride solo if their partners can't make it? I see no rules at all on their site.

Thanks. Had a look at that. Seem to all be road events and only a couple in Western Cape. Doesn't really make sense to me to seed a MTB race in the Western Cape based road events done outside of the region.

2014 & 2016(Day 2) I finished in the Top 20 - This year I am seeded in D batch  ^_^

My partner & I are not racing so don't really care, as long as we can avoid having to stand in queues at the singletrack like last year's start of Day2!

For those who have done the race before, do they at least seed day 2 based on day 1 results?

First time they do seeding for this race. I assume they will seed day 2 based on day 1 because that is how it should work when you bother to do seeding

Haha, she probably did very well in whatever race she did previously. I don't know, it's not the best system, but at least they have the option to add other non-ASG races.

It's such a chilled ride, I'm sure it won't be a problem. Maybe mail them and ask.

IDK now hey, never looked at their mtb seeding. It seems they also have no penalty for old results, so your seeding will always (or at least until they introduce such a system) remain good if you had one very good result a few years ago.

Just had a look at last years results again, the winners time was faster over both days than ours on the first day  Ah well, it was a good ride!

Just got the race briefing document.... it says there are three starting groups 5 minutes apart. I'm in "group D" which last time I checked was the fourth letter of the alphabet.....
