  1. Will Assos now change their tag line to "Sponsor Qhubeka"?
  2. The route was like that for much of last year before they changed it just before the race. So it might just be that the old one got put up again.
  3. I'm still planning on how I'm going to be sick on Sunday (my week starts then). If it rains I'm not even bothering thinking of an excuse. "Hi sir, yes, it's raining in Roubaix, I'm not coming in."
  4. Thanks
  5. Hey now
  6. Yeah, they stood no chance.
  7. Nizzolo was their supported rider, think he finished together with Reinie. Was even listed as top 10 riders to watch on Cycling News, but same as the rest of the sprinters didn't make it over the Pogio close enough to the lead pack.
  8. So bleak I can't ride this year, had an absolute blast last year. Those last 40 kays are simultaneously the most difficult and most beautiful moments I have had on a bike. Good luck to those taking on the challenge!
  9. It's only really the crosswind gusts that get the lighter guys, into a headwind a light guy can help out as well.
  10. It's actually not entirely like that any longer. Flew with my bike 2 years ago, you do rock up to check-in on the day, no need to go a week before. Saying that, I'd rather ship it with one of the transport companies, it's just not worth the hassle of trying to get your bike bag into a Picanto.
  11. Had the privilege of going to the rider sign-in yesterday at the UAE Tour (stage 2). Spoke to the M-S guys and joked that they should've brought Impey with for us Saffas. Basically they said he is currently recovering from Aus and will build up towards a tilt at the Ardennes this year, where they expect he will mixing it with the big boys. So we can start singing "Impey" in April again!
  12. Ag no man, this is the whole reason I still wanted to come do the event.
  13. Good to know
  14. So at what point do you guys start looking at the Bikehub options for the team?
  15. You've gone an done it haven't you The jealous is strong this side!
  16. So jealous
  17. So does anybody have a spot on their team, for some reason I have his feeling I have to be there
  18. Have ridden it plenty times after work, the traffic is so slow going up and there is a bit of a "gutter" on the LHS that keeps you safe. The downhill is pretty hairy though, but mostly the cars go so slow that you just go down with them.
  19. You might have convinced me to line up again this year, awesome work Gerald and team!
  20. Had a great time out there again, really enjoy this race. Finished with the front of A, stoked about that. Thanks to all the guys who helped with the pacing, tried to help where I can. Hope all the guys who fell in A are OK, heard a big one behind me when we turned towards Moses Mabida at the start. Heard about a few more afterwards as well. Heal up well peeps. PS. I see PPA seedings have been updated to include results for Tour Durban. Beta of 0.79.
  21. Brilliant!
  22. I must clearly grow a staché, makes you win it seams. #outwiththebeard #whatbeard
  23. What a day! What a race! What a vibe! Loved every second of it. Came home in 6:21, everyone gave it their all and we had shattered bodies crossing the finish line. Had some bad luck in the first half of the race with 2 punctures and a crash in our group, luckily nothing too bad. Much improved second half, found a good rhythm and we soldiered on to a good finish. Closing note, how about that mineshaft with 160km in the legs
