wolver Posted November 15, 2017 Share Anyone know what the seeding for this race is based on? Finding myself seeded much further back than I'd like for this weekend
Nibali Posted November 15, 2017 Share Anyone know what the seeding for this race is based on? Finding myself seeded much further back than I'd like for this weekend It's an ASG event, so they have their own seeding index. Check the website to see your index and the events used. You can add non-ASG events to help your seeding out.

BTW, can the riders ride solo if their partners can't make it? I see no rules at all on their site.

Doesn't really make sense to me to seed a MTB race in the Western Cape based road events done outside of the region.

wolver Posted November 15, 2017 Share For those who have done the race before, do they at least seed day 2 based on day 1 results?
Skubarra Posted November 15, 2017 Share For those who have done the race before, do they at least seed day 2 based on day 1 results? First time they do seeding for this race. I assume they will seed day 2 based on day 1 because that is how it should work when you bother to do seeding wolver

I don't know, it's not the best system, but at least they have the option to add other non-ASG races. It's such a chilled ride, I'm sure it won't be a problem. Maybe mail them and ask. It seems they also have no penalty for old results, so your seeding will always (or at least until they introduce such a system) remain good if you had one very good result a few years ago. Nibali Posted November 15, 2017 Share Just had a look at last years results again, the winners time was faster over both days than ours on the first day Ah well, it was a good ride!
wolver Posted November 15, 2017 Share Just got the race briefing document.... it says there are three starting groups 5 minutes apart. I'm in "group D" which last time I checked was the fourth letter of the alphabet.....
