Brits 4x4 trail to be extended to cycling

A friend owns a camping and 4x4 trail.  Some Cyclists were there recently and suggested to him that he open it to cyclists as well.

He knows nothing about cycling needs so he called me (I may have used the word wheel, bicycle, or cycle in a conversation once).  I am equally clueless.

I suggested that i post something on this forum to gauge interest.

I'ts a very rustic place, but clean.  ablutions, showers, campsites under the trees next to the crocodile river with electrical  and water points, braais. There,s a licensed bar.

the trail is known in the 4x4 community for some of its signature tough obstacles.  The owner would be open to suggestions on how to make it more cyclist friendly.

I suggested to him that he have an open day for cyclists who may want to explore the trails and to give some input afterward.

We are looking at doing this on the 10th December 2017 if there is interest.

So, What do you think?

Feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer and give info.

input welcome.

his website with maps of the routes is http://www.atsegat.co.za/

The place is safe, unlike some of the other combination resort trails like Hennops and Groenkloof which have had "incidents".   I camp there often.  My mom and Dad (in their 70's) camp (and fish) there often. we have never had, or heard of, any safety/security incidents.

I see there's been 140 views but only one response so far.  Attie called me to say someone called him in response to this thread, I'm not sure who it was.

Anyway,... I will be there  on Sunday to help out.  If anyone needs more info just post here or drop me a PM.

Perhaps I will see some riders there on Sunday.

Any feedback on this?

We are in the vicinity next week, hoping to give it a try.

Aah yes At se gat, really fun place to jol but you need mega legs to climb. Im a big enduro fan and this place really has loads of potential, can work if the time is put in.

I went through to At Se Gat on Sunday but no one arrived.  Perhaps I will look at arranging an open day there early in the new year.  Awesome place.  Actual crocks in the river.  Lekker camping (i just spent 2 days there again)
