  1. Glad you got sorted....eventually.. The big question now is what to buy,,,,,,, and without pichas it never happened! Hope you get the new bike before your trip - enjoy
  2. I get your argument, and agree, in part, with your point of view. The bold section though is an assumption. The "qualifying" factor is not your income - but your skin color. If it were to benefit the poor/needy - then let THAT be your entry point, not your race.
  3. The reason it is a bad move, is because they are using race as a divider. In our current political climate, everything is polarized as white vs black vs colored. Take the color out of it. I would much rather them design the business model as a using a % of the investment to be used for actual tangible development. Build schools in rural areas, build clinics, build houses, sponsor transport etc. Whatever the most needy (as the plan is alluding to "benefit") needs, fill that gap. We have enough over eager politicians, stay our of politics and muddying the water with ongoing race issues. It's the same as someone taking 1000 pictures of them helping someone - it's more to do about your own image than the person you are helping. If you want to really help - as a company - build something people can use.
  4. I see Parker advises 10 speed and lower to use 0.5% as max, and 11/12 speed use 0.75%, with single speed at 1% wear. There are no set formulas for chain wear vs cassette wear. This is dependent on the components (SLX/XT/XTR..etc) themselves. But you should be able to get 4-5 chains worth of life out of a cassette. The more wear on the chain before replacement, the more damage and wear to cassette. Invest in a chain wear gauge and measure your chain wear once a month. Once you get to 0.5%, replace the chain. the added 200km between 0.5% and 0.75% is not worth the extra wear on the cassette.
  5. Congrats oom Chris - you worked hard to build a brand and now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. We can all choose to support CL or boycott it or do whatever we can to source the items we need, fair enough. But be true to yourself - just like the SPUR boycott. When you so bravely state you will NEVER support CL or CWC again, because of a sound business choice on their part, stick to it. Don'y put your request and "ag please oom" on the next CWC sale. To oom Chris and his entire CWC team - go and celebrate! you deserve it.
  6. Piekchaas..... and plenty of them... Nothing better than a brand spanking new bike to start the weekend....
  7. Didn't know Steinhoff was THIS desperate....
  8. So....do you have another bike you would like to sell.... Too soon..??
  9. What I find even more interesting than the price tag, is that the spokes are chemically bonded....so I take it this wheel can never be trued again. One oops, and a huge insurance claim to follow....
  10. Definitely don't want to see anyone trying to hit a cop - that would be stupid. but Mr bodyguard should have been able to prevent his "client" from ending on the tarmac. Sure policeman should stop them seeing that he cannot identify them. No issue with the stoppage. Imagine how everyone would react if a weekend warrior coming down the mountain took out or interfered with riders coming up the road.
  11. So much for having your bodyguard with you....
  12. Cat still has a bad cough.... rather be safe and let him/her stay another night... Can pick him up tomorrow morning...
  13. Nope.... cannot "overdo" your trusty steed....Do what makes you happy. Just don't expect to get any ROI on all the improvements once you decide to sell... All those fancy and blingy spacers and crank bolts means nada to Bob trying to score a bargain in the classifieds.
  14. Kw = How fast wheel will spin Nm = How far wheel will take passenger. Kw applied when replacing chain. Nm = 0 moment wheel touches the ground...ie no motor. If this is a motor it has NO torque, so basically a useless fan. Some people just WANT to believe everyone is cheating.
  15. I'm definitely maybe almost certain of my team...
  16. Well.....seeing that no publicity is bad publicity AND you have been cleared.... this actually helps promote SKY. Marketing dept can take a nice long holiday while WADA does the hype marketing for them
  17. I've seen a few of Tuckers tweets today - he is still far from accepting this blatant abuse of the system and systemic destruction of the anti-doping system. Bit too emotional for someone who portrays to be impartial. He will nit-pick at the data he does not have, and which they did not share
  18. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/44694122 Interesting to see them share HR and Power data...
  19. Agree with this being an anomaly on his side, but his defense will remain the same. I test positive, you report the AAF, I mail you the previous tests documents and off we go. I am not saying he will do this. Just questioning the effectiveness of the limit/controls if they can be rendered useless. Sure all other athletes who did not have the SKY Dr reports on their side will want to know how they did this... some questions will be asked. Which is good.
  20. OK, so he proved, one way or another, that in order to reach the elevated test result, he did not break the rules and hence the "Not guilty" verdict. Great news. So can he now again ride with the same elevated levels, using the same defense? Which in effect renders the entire "limit" null and void..?
  21. My next investment for cleaning cassette's and whatever else needs a cleaning... http://www.labotec.co.za/new-range-price-competitive-ultrasonic-cleaners/
  22. I did not like the 22km loop we started with...boring and thick grass for 80% of the route. Once we turned on the 54km loop it was back to the fun side. I really enjoyed the ride...cramped and suffering up the hills but all worth it. I expected the punisher to be an extension of the 54km.. Won't do the same 22/54 punisher again, and rather enjoy the 54km. A Lot less bottlenecks all round and less people on route. Can't complain about traffic and the odd bottleneck. Will definitely be back
  23. These little cables from Hell.... Costs an arm and a leg and only lasts a few months. Non OEM cables tend to last from 1 week to 1 year before the phone wakes up and just decide F@ckit...I won't charge from you again!
  24. Not sure about starting times, but as for parking - there are ample space at Marks park on the 2 sports fields. Get there with some time to spare as the roads leading into Marks park gets pretty busy with only 2 entry points. There are normally some pigeon box safes to store your keys etc in. Get there early enough to enjoy the coffee and vie before setting of on the punisher. Going to be a long day out for the punisher....expecting some serious fun and serious climbing. Remember to take a bike light with..... it does help through the tunnels. Oh...and dry clothes for after the event...it gets very wet and very cold 5km in.... Most important - GO HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE
