Hi.

I need some assistance. My Merida big920 stood for a few months. This weekend I took it out. Dusted her off and found that I had no rear brakes. Is this something I can sort out by myself or do I need to take it in for repairs.

The front brakes work fine but the rear break is like pulling air when i pull the brake lever.

I appreciate all assistance

Probably just needs a bleed

Before you bleed them.... a little hack. If you can pump them until there is pressure, it can be rectified. Pump until full pressure, then in the pulled position you place a rubber band around the grip to keep the lever compressed. Leave it overnight, if the pressure is still there in the morning you are ok. If not it needs a full bleed.

Even if this works there's still air in the system. Bleed it. Brakes aren't something you want giving up on you at an inconvenient time.
