Thanks, will start saving :-) Maybe you could have one for hire, like shock wizz.

How much is a brake bleed if you do it BTW?

150. So 2 bleeds + taxi fare gets you the tool anyway.

so, just check i bought the guides rsc

this edge tool thingy is for ultimates or/and the newer s4 calipers

thanks mtbr

Yes. The main difference visually is the screws and the bleed port. The older caliper has the bleed port in the top screw. Compare the two areas circled. The one with two recessed identical torx screws and a bump on the bottom is the new one. The one with the screw within a hex at the top is the old caliper. a5edeaaee90ed6e6060ea165db456159.jpg70400f1909537ededfe4132904e4e772.jpg

All the new brakes 2017 and on have the new bleed port in the caliper - from the Guide R (which I have) on up. Were yours old stock or second hand?

I discovered the problem after I had actually removed the bleed screw completely - some fluid leaked out but after sealing it and doing a bit of bubble removal and re pressurizing from the lever, the brake actually feels better than before.

Most of the time bubbles will rise and collect in the lever with use, so a burp will make the brake feel better. You'll need the tool for a complete bleed though, which is needed every 6 - 12 months to replace the fluid as it absorbs water.
