Funnily enough I believe the answer is simple and has already been given by Steve Biko, not that he was the greatest example as regards morals etc.  But basically it was "Black Man - you are on your own".

 

I believe this can be crudely put as - make your own way (don't hate yourself) and don't blame others (apartheid, whites etc etc).

 

Although this really belongs elsewhere.
