By the way Bruce' date=' how do you download from a PVR decoder to PC?
[/quote']

Can't be done digitally - something to do with broadcast licenses and movie rights etc, so it has to be done with a video capture card.  I have a nice one that converts the analogue video and audio signals to USB.

Certified gizmo freek LOL

The guys at the race on Sunday thought I had the flight deck of the space shuttle on my bike - (a little bit porno I must say)

Feedback so far.  The user functionality is really nice.  We are busy working with the guys in Germany to sort out proper calibration of the units etc.  Once that is sorted out, I will post a proper review.

Geek OK, that's what I do currently, just thought that you knew something I didn't, in which case I would have to track you down at a race and subject you to an involuntary brain transplant facilitated by a high speed touch of wheels during which we go for the brain straight through the helmet!

LOL

There is a very suspicious looking USB port on the PVR - would be nice to download via that.  Only problem is the data is stored encrypted on the HD, and if I understand it correctly, the decryption takes place at the same point that the digital to analogue conversion happens, so there is no way to get your hands on the unencrypted digital video Confused

Hahahaha, that's what happened to me at Selati anyway. Thank goodness Giro helmets protect against unsolicited brain transplants! I was saddened that I had to part company with my white porn star Atmos, but like a true domestique, it had done it's job at the bleeding edge of the peleton and had called it a day. Disapprove It's never easy parting company with an old faithful....

Yeah, have seen that USB port on the PVR and assumed it was a straight forward operation of hook up to PC, PC sees external HDD, and voila! we're copying.... Guess not!

Broadcast networks are not entitled to transmit unencrypted digital content - movie companies would somehow have a bit of a problem with that - especially in China Wink

Angry

Getting back to the show, I started to wonder ? is this a general reflection

of cycling in SA or is it a grand CycleLab commercial?\<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Starting with a boring 20 minute coverage of a rather mediocre tour,

(with apologies to the participants), in which there did not seem to be

much  racing, poor footage which seemed to focus more on riders

plodding  their way round the circuits than on action (if there was

any),  followed by  transplants from the Cyclingnews.com news columns.

I drifted off to watch the ?Thin Blue Line? on Prime at 8 because it was

 such  a lot more exciting!

Saw the second ? hour of Super Cyclelab this am on Mnet. Only 5 mins

on what looked like a good race ? the Cradle one, I think. (I assume Cyclab

sponsor Microsoft because they were given lots of commentary?). Poor old  Andrew was almost speechless when Rupert won it!! And do you know what ? I can?t remember what else!

And an aversion to commenting on teams riding Cannondale or Felt bikes

is becoming conspicuous! Will be interesting to see, now the European

season is finished, and there is a bit more competition in SA, how the

tv  coverage is going to be manoeuvred!
