Bleeding disk brakes

Morning all,

 

I need to bleed my Hayes Sole disk brakes. Do I need to get hold of the manufacturer's bleed kit or is there a DIY bleed kit that I can build that will do the same job at a fraction of the price?

 

Lastly, how do I go about this? I'm pretty handy, just need a direction to be pointed in.

Flippa I am not to sure which thing you refer to but I assume it can be something to do gravity (reverse) bleeding . This system is much easier to make than a pressurized bleeder . But rather than waffel on about it rather go here http://www.moccsplace.com/images/brakes/bleeder/bleeder.htm and see for yourself . I find that I can gravity bleed my brakes without any one of these funny devices .

ok well now that is a very simple gadget , you can use it for either method of bleeding .

I got the Hope belled kit that uses pressure form the tyre. It attached to the Hydraulic fluid reservoir and "reverse" bleeds. It works well and there will be no oil spots on your pristine paving. Assuming you ride a Toyota and not a Ford or Alfa Romeo.
