So after building her last weekend, JMK1 supplied the final critical items like a chainring and brake calliper nut and set the gearing up to perfection.

Today we had our first ride together.

Build:

Frame: Colnago C40 B Stay in AD14 (MK3)

Groupset: Campagnolo Record 10 Speed

Wheels: Campagnolo Nucleon clinchers with Campagnolo record skewers

Finishing Kit: Selle Italia SLR Flow, Colnago seatpost, Dedo Zero 100 stem, Zipp SLSS carbon bars, Supacaz tape, GP 4000 tyres, Look Keo 2 Max Blade pedals

Stunning result Desmond. Bet she gives an awesome ride.

...........My C40 is way more comfortable than EP ................The 10spd Record is as smooth as butter .............

Then I'm glad I went for the C40, because it is more than racy enough for slow old me.

As far as 10sp Record, I find it difficult to imagine how that can be improved.

I must say record is bullet proof and it just never stops being smooth ...

I have older Super Record on my C59 and newer Chorus on my C40 and the Chorus seams smoother then the SR, but nothing works like old school 10 speed record

I have the same view Alain. ±2012 SR Red Titanium on the C59 and Record 10 on the C40. The SR works perfectly but it is noticeably noisier and harsher in shifting than the Record.

Why not :)

I've done 525km on the bike so far, ridden Suikerbosrand, many East Rand rides and the Cradle and its awesome. I had to sell my C59 a while ago and with this bike I find myself missing the c59 less than I thought I would (although I did accidentally buy a CT1 to help console myself).

The bike is 7,3kg now with Super Record and at 66kg I can't get close to the power that I'd need to notice a difference in stiffness to modern bikes. she climbs like a dream, decends like a banshee and looking down at my frame reminds me of Cippolini with his Pamela Anderson sticker.
