Fulcrum vs Dt Swiss hubs

Hi All

I humbly ask your opinion on the following 2 sets of wheels as a Marathon, Endurance set

2013 Fulcrum Red Power 29" XL

Weight: 1915g per set

Driver: Shimano Only

Engagement: 36T 3xProng

Tyres: Rocket Ron 29x2.20 Front and Back

2015 DT Swiss X1700 29" Spline TWO

Weight: 1731g per set

Driver: Shimano/XD

Engagement: 36T ratchet (Upgraded from 18T)

Tyres: Rocket Ron 29x2.20 Front and Back

So my question is what wheels would be better for rolling. I have gotten used to the Fulcrums that's extremely low on drag that literally just flows. Absolutely love these wheels.

Would I be disappointed switching to the DT Swiss in terms of how they flow on downhill segments.

TL:DR - What hubs are better with least internal resistance with the least amount of drag?

PS - 1st time owning a DT Swiss set so dont know them that well.

I'd think the DT's will roll better, even just because of their lighter weight. Have a look at other features as well like internal rim width - tire width makes a difference to rolling and grip as well.

Thanks. I added the tires I will be running on them. Rocket Ron 29x2.20 but that will be the same on both sets

So after swapping the wheels it was a whopping 377g difference between the sets. The Fulcrums were way heavier than advertised. the DT Swiss was within a few grams of advertised (lighter actually)

Front: 142g less

Rear: 235g less

Will take it for a spin tonight quick to feel how they ride

You can't go wrong with DT star ratchet hubs. You do need a special tool to change bearings, but routine maintenance takes about 5 minutes.

And you can upgrade to a higher engagement point ratchet with ease. 18t, 36t, 54t all available as options.

Well I was lucky. I got the 36t upgrade kit yesterday from Spez in Bedford for R620 and then they had the Endcap conversion I needed to make the rear wheel 12x142 for R450...

So all in all I wont need to buy anything else for these wheels again :)

Edit - ... for now anyways

Can order just the ratchets which makes it a whole lot cheaper. R1200 for the 54t set is not bad IMO.

Ok so did the Juma on the DT Swiss and they held up pretty decently. I still think the Fulcrums have better downhill acceleration but thats in my head I think

Will be sticking with the DT Swiss as my primary set and use the Fulcrums as a backup set whenever needed.
