SEANSTEP Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Thanks to all who stopped to offer assistance to a mate (Pete Nelson) who had a bad crash on Saturday between Smits & the base of Red Hill (roughly 7.30am). He crashed due to uncleating while putting in a burst of speed. Broken collar bone & concussed. Unfortunately in the turmoil names went unsaid in most instances. A blanket which proved critical in the cold and with Pete suffering from shock was "donated". Also willing to help were Parks officials, thanks. And later while waiting for a lift from our fellow riders Steve & Arlene Holt who double as Uber support crew for the PharmaChoice family, Dr Patrick Semple, Amir and their riding crew patiently stayed with Pete Nelson. It was heartening to experience the willingness of people to stop and offer assistance. Thanks, and sorry I'm unable to name all. Pete is due for an operation today, and is doing fine.

Andrew_Smith Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Glad to hear there are still people out there willing to give their assistance and help! Crashing is crap... but sadly it is a part of the sport. I hope your friend makes a speedy recovery and that he will be back on his bike soon.
