  1. Hey wait, I almost fell off my chair, someone apologised on THE HUB! I'm not even saying it was necessary, just flabbergasted that there is someone out there with the humility to do it.
  2. I'm still in the dark. Organizers sent me a message yesterday saying they were still busy...
  3. Anyone know where to find the official race results?
  4. KOM, sorry just seen & it's pretty much been answered. I heard from my 2nd cousin twice removed who heard it from a friend's friend that not enough ambulances as stipulated by CSA which is a fair point by CSA. Let it slide & you're asking for trouble. So it would be to cater for entire event, so if only long route goes off there are enough ambulances on a per person basis. Yep, did long route & like you on 38C.
  5. I second Mamil on the include parking in entry fee. Yep, what realistic alternative does one have, does leave that bad taste of being blackmailed. As also mentioned by Mamil it creates a bottle neck at the worst possible time. I'm going to add & not specific to just this event, I'm concerned about the approach to traffic/bikes & the open roads situation. This situation is getting dangerous. Start of Swartberg & this event. Road races in general. One of those things where the day after a tragedy there be a lot of hand wringing & blame gaming. The time to do something is now. And yep, lets not start with signage... Did I have fun? Yep. Signage almost changed that.
  6. Pretty much glazed over at the word "value". Bike industry & value don't belong in the same sentence. Marketing, advertising those are the words that go with bike industry. Every new model is 30% stiffer, faster etc. Implies previous model always was a floppy slow clunker. Their best department is marketing.
  7. NC_Lurker you come across as a reasonable guy, one who comes up with some cogent points. I always thought the moment the UCI got their grubby paws on gravel racing they'ed suck the joy out of it. I mean before long dodgy substance taking may be the norm, motorcades will be following, radios will be communicating information etc. Yep, unlikely to work to the benefit of the fun rider. Bit like trickle down economics I fear, sounds good but...
  8. Sorry Tim, before you know it a rumour is started & your good name tarnished all from a simple mistake.😂 Yep, he likes to feel lycra or so he claims!
  9. Mmm, is this the guy in Lakeside who asked to feel the "material" of my bib shorts? I've had a few run ins with Tim (if that's him) & always taken him with a pinch of salt. Just laughed everything off as I truly suspect the individual I ran into is not well. Just naturally sort of felt sorry for him. Guess he has his demons. I can however see how dangerous things can get for others if he jumps into the road etc. In fact I thought when he approached me that there certainly are people out there who would have had a severe adverse reaction to him. I actually left wondering how he hasn't been beaten up. Maybe he has. So as DieselnDust suggested one has to also wonder about his safety too.
  10. That a hanger alignment tool? Mmm, always wanted to know someone who had one of those!😂😉
  11. I always find it frustrating having to wait long periods for race results. Running races are back to the 1980's in that regard. Must say when one is accustomed to Racetec's fairly fast process it can makes the delay all the more noticeable from other companies. #No affiliation with Racetec although I do vaguely know one of the "owners/past owners". He is a cyclist, so hard not to in the Cape Town community.
  12. Ja, don't think these ones (Entry Ninja)happen fast at the best of times, assuming it should be on Entry Ninja. Now add shortened route. Correct me if I'm wrong but I understood that the hot shots at the front may have done original full distance. If so, timing will be a stuff up...
  13. Kind of surprised there are no report backs on this race. Can't say I was sorry they shortened it, but was confused & tense coming into the finish knowing I did not have 58km on the clock & as yet not aware it had been shortened.
