@Duane maybe I'll try see if I can give your mates bike a test ride for sizing. Mark has already offered me his 120 to test ride.

Just waiting on a Metacarpal fracture to heal up! Hate it when the trees jump in front of you on a trail

Well after all that, looks like my Pyga idea has turned itself into a YT Jeffsy. Mate offered me a deal I can't really refuse on a basically new bike.

I've recently got an Ali Jeffsy after a few years on a 650 b Reign.

I'm a midget at 172 on a good day but I'm on a large Jeffsy. I've swapped the 150mm dropper out for a 125mm giant unit because of my halflegs. The M Reign was actually a longer bike. According to the reviews I've watched the Jeffsy reach figures are on the short side so just test the bike first. I've also swapped out the stock Monarch for a Fox Float. I really really enjoy the Jeffsy.

It's not as good in the rough stuff as the reign but it's such a fun bike to ride that I don't mind and as I get into it I can feel more speed coming. Its a bike I want to spend a lot of time on. I love the simple yet effective Shimano drivetrain. The OEM wheels are supposedly too narrow but I haven't felt them being overly flexy and the bike is lighter than my reign ever was. You expect a 29er to handle like a fat sow but the Jeffsy doesn't.

You'll love it.

Oh. The OEM Saddle may as well be a piece of laminate flooring. You're going to want to give that to someone you don't like.

And the chainslap is abysmal. My one mate has one and runs a clutch as well as a chain tamer and it's still bad.

It is a Large frame. Road my medium Trance this morning, and its feeling a little cramped.

The parking lot ride I did on the Jeffsy when my mate bought it, the reach did feel quite short, maybe I'm just not used to it. It's in Jhb at the moment so can't go take it on a proper test ride.

Have you felt a big difference going Fox on the back?

Bike has been changed to 1x10, with a 11-42 Deore cassette on back, though I have a Praxis in the cupboard and told him I want the 2x stuff in case. Running a Csixx chain retainer on the front and clutch on the back.

I've got a SDG saddle I've used for a couple months now, and they ok when you used to them, can always throw my Gobi on or find something down the line.

Toying with the idea of flogging the Reverb and getting a Lyne or Rapide unit. Those Reverbs are just so expensive to service.

Were you on the road at La Parada at any point this morning?

The stock Monarch was fine. It just doesn't lock out and I had the fox so...

Have a look on Pinkbike FWIW. Guys on there talk about their height and what size jeffsy they are on. Should give you an indication. Also look at the measurements on your trance vs the jeffsy.

Mine is also 1*10 I've got a 32 oval on the front and 11-42 out back. It's fine.

Yeah you'll want to bin the saddle. I'm sure of that.

Yeah I'm not a reverb fan. At all!

Yip, rounded the circle. Myself and  Porqui did an early one up the Pipe Track in HB then joined the Greenbelts to Tokai lower and back.

First ride since my metacarpal fracture 2 months back.
