Stolen: Silverback Superspeed 2018
When: 4 October 2018
Where: Magaliesburg, Gauteng

We were having launch at the Black Horse Brewery the day before the Spur MTB nationals at Bekker, the bike was locked onto the bike rack using the locks supplied with the bike rack on the clamps that hold the frame(Thule rack) and the guys who stole the bike managed to break the clamp itself.

The bike will most likely have scratches on the top tube as it looks like they used tools to break the clamp.

If bought or seen anywhere please let me know.

Thule do a great job on racks

but truth be told the locks built in suck

i always carry a big chain and lock in the back of my car

if we need to leave car with bikes on rack i lock bikes to each other and to the body of the rack

i know not completely foolproof

but way better than Thule locks

They defiantly make great racks, just if they made the clamps stronger, possibly out of metal, then their locking system will work better.

But now I'm always going to lock them with a second cable type bike lock, not taking chances anymore!

Thule racks should come with a warning label :

" Locking your bike to this rack in South Africa will lead to having to make your first post on bikhub.co.za in the Stolen Bike section because locking your bike to a Thule rack is the same as tying it on with cooked spaghetti and if you secure it to the rack with a cable they take the rack also and just as quickly"

seriously bro it sux they took your bike and i hope it turns up #strength
