I'd hate to burst your bubble, but have you read the fine print of the Ryder light (or any of their products?)?  :whistling:

no and I have never had an issue with the warranty so why would I bother with it the light and battery was replaced under warranty (even though it might have been my fault/lack of knowledge) with no issues if you had problems with the warranty maybe you need to get a better bike shop.????

My Ryder Centauri is still going strong after 5+ years, although not much use in past year apart from use in the house when Eskom is out.

If you want DIY option, or versatility, you can also look at strapping a LED Lenser torch to your bars. I think they do have mounting adapters for bars as well as Gopro type. They don't lie about their lumens. Try the MT14.

Good to hear you've had good life from their products, and good warranty service.

I'm simply pointing out that 'lifetime warranty' doesn't mean what most think it does. I've only ever owned two Ryder products, one is absolutely fine and seems to be incredibly well manufactured (and I have no reason to believe it won't last for years to come), the other was absolute rubbish straight out the box (and not exactly cheap either ... get what you pay for doesn't seem to apply here). Too much of a lucky packet for me.  :whistling:

Check out the options fro Blackburn and Lezyne as well, particularly if you'll be riding along anything other than straight roads. In my (fairly extensive) experience with night riding lights, the beam pattern on the generic Chinese made lights falls flat as soon as you try going round a corner.

You'll pay a bit extra for it, but worth it.

An added bonus, both have models that have self contained batteries but will accept external power sources as well if you want to do longer rides or 24h events.
