Hi Hubbers.

I dont know if this has been asked or discussed before but help would be appreciated.

I see on a thule website that the freeride is not carbon compatible. Does that mean it will damage my bottom tube if I load and clamp it?

Are any of you using the freeride on a carbon frame?

You dont want to be clamping a carbon downtube, Thule said same to me when I bought mine, I got the one that you take the front wheel off and clamp the forks.

The freeride I use for the aluminium MTB.

Maybe some people use freeride for carbon bikes but eish will be crap if you clamping the bike and hear a cracking sound.

Been using a freeride for a loong time for 3 different carbon bikes. No issues whatsoever. Just don't overtighten it - just tighten till snug and the bike doesn't have wiggle room.

Carbon is not that fragile...

EDIT: I had the names mixed up. I've been using a proride, not a freeride.

I would not clamp a carbon frame in a Thule Freeride.  It is very easy to over tighten it, putting stress on the carbon.  Rather get a Thule Pro Ride 591 or 598.
