The 38mm Def don't look quite as good, I know it's not all about how they look but a cycling mate once said "If you can't be fast, look fast, it's the next best thing" Quite appropriate in my case.

Hi everyone, Time to upgrade my wheels finally, Looking at buying a set of carbon clinchers for my road bike, is there a general preference out there for 38mm or 50mm. Is crosswind a real issue on the 50mm ? Will I look like a Lance time trial wannabe if I go for 50mm(lol) I dunno man, leaning towards 38mm, what say the community?

Ebikes are a fantastic solution to polution and traffic congestion etc. Dont know why gvt would be hung up on the 25kmh speed thing as a benchmark, can get 70 and above on a normal bicycle. Ebike came past me the other day at about 50 I reckon (was on my roadbike prob @ 20kmh), couldn't help thinking what an amazingly brilliant transport solution they are. Gvt should be encouraging more use of these bikes by keeping the regs to an absolute minimum.

Pretty sure if these companies keep pushing out the boat in terms of R&D and geometry tweaks they will come up with my Merida 120 soft tail 26er. Sweet, I will be back in fashion again.

Went out about 630, Did not notice an increase in riders or runners really, most had masks or buffs. I had a buff that i took down if going up a hill mostly cos my glasses steamed up and couldnt see where I was going. If i was approaching joggers coming the other way then i pulled buff up again, noticed that many of them did same. Saw a couple of groups of 4 but they were split into 2+2 kind of thing. So didnt see anything that one could really classify as irresponsible behaviour under the circumstances. Really was lekker to get out and about again

MTB riders hate on roadies all the time, nothing new there. Personally I think it is because they have to clean their bikes all the time which has to make them bleak. lockdown easing soon so general mojo will improve a lot am sure. As much as it has been crap to be in lockdown, feel greatful that have been able to see it through in relative comfort compared to many. So there is that.

Just like unprovoked cyclists will flip the bird to a car that has done nothing wrong too. The human condition is unfortunately one where we do not get along with those that are not in our tribe, and when the other tribe does something wrong - well then s**t really gets out of hand. I thought I was the only one that flips the bird to every car just in case.

Ok peeps, just some feedback on the R400 bibs from Mr Price, Got 2 pairs, been using couple of times a week since I got them, Sep/Oct last year. Holding up great, chamois is still sweet, lycra is like new still, really cant fault them. You can buy em, at R400 a pair its a no brainer. Thats my experience up to now ????

I dont think the driver was trying to drive off at all, if you look at the direction of his car and position of wheels he was just trying to move the car out of the road. Looks like the cyclist lost it as he thought the guy was trying to duck. Cyclist throws something at the car then the driver loses his **** cause he thinks the cyclist is now attacking him. If you see the drivers reaction after he goes to bliksem the cyclist you can see he is now the donder in as he gestures that he was trying to park the car on the verge. *** situation, everyone seemed to overreact, eish. At least nobody badly injured from the look of things. Maybe just some bruised egos.

Was riding along river Rd next to the spruit this morning, saw a guy riding a Mtb on the spruit with his phone on a handlebar bracket, I couldnt help thinking that he was actually almost making himself a target, he was riding on his own too. Not blaming the prospective victim here but surely it wont help to put phones and stuff on display. Just a thought.

So was in Cycle lab the other day, coulda swore I saw a Cippolini or some such Italian carbon road bike 200k ? No e - anything, now that seems a tad excessive to me. Ahhh but to dream, we all need that little bit of droolworthy unobtanium to keep us interested hey... Anyway, back on topic, maybe the Spaz marketeers bring out the 250k bike to make the 105 and 120k bikes look like a bargain ?
