I went out riding today with a friend and all of a sudden I hear this pop and look down and see that the seal on my fork has come out and has lost all its pressure

And ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks

Joel

On the air side the lower piston has two seals (o-ring 3 X 10 mm and 3.5 X 21 mm).  Air must be getting past one of these and blowing the wiper seal off.  Time for a service - once you have dug that deep you may as well service all the seals.

Sometimes the seal is not pressed in that well or the seating interface is not dry. I replaced my seals into my fork with some grease and they popped out super easy.

But as said before its likely linked to the air spring not equalizing correctly.

As David says. Air has migrated past the seals into the lower air chamber. There is a hidden valve in the bottom that you may use to bleed that air pressure, but best is to fix the core issue, which is the worn seals and/or not enough lube.

Very easy service this on the RS. Will take you not more than 20 minutes. But get some SRAM Butter (quite expensive, but last forever), and a new seal and o-ring kit.

Then get on YouTube, where you will find more than enough videos on how to sort it out.
