MTB fall on trails near Durbanville

Did a short gravel grind with an absolute beginner who last rode a bike 15 years ago the other day and saw just how shaky a beginner can be. Even minor ruts and loose rocks on the road caused consternation when riding downhill. Made me appreciate how far I've come since 2015. Only one surgery required so far.

 

I remember my first trail ride ever. Wearing sandals, both feet off the pedals, only prayer and hope keeping my balance on one of the steeper sections of majik forest. Bloody idiot. Lucky not to have had my mtb career ended before the lofty heights of my 411 place down supertubes.

 

Hope the crashees heal well and are back on the trail soon.
