twin rings Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 hi all, i'm in the process of purchasing a new bike. I upgraded my current bike to 1X12 GX about 2 years ago, the new bike has 1X12 NX.....should I ask the LBS to swop them around or is it better to keep the new kit?? thanks in advance...
Grease_Monkey Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 To be honest there is nearly no difference between NX and GX when it comes to the shifter and derailleur- where there is a big difference is with weight on the cassette. A GX Eagle cassette is considerably lighter than an NX Eagle cassette - but the GX uses a XD freehub, and the NX uses a standard Shimano freehub, so they cannot be swopped anyway. Because of that I would say just keep the new kit on the bike. Would be kinda pointless to just swop shifter and deraillieur and be stick with two half used sets of drivetrains.
