Not sure where you stay, if in Gauteng PM me where, I can put you on to two LBS that have decent range around 6K. Like @slickjay007 found don't overlook momsen and silverback. Bang for your buck in 29er hardtail 2018 stock

Thanks Grant, I am in cape town ,

I am not stuck to a brand at all

Pitty, don't know the bike shops down there but maybe a hubber will point you in the right direction. 6/8k will get you something nice and new. Hell sportsman's have Titans not bad spec to get you going for less than 8k.

I have seen some Titans , hows the quality of these bikes?

I guess if I'm not spending too much I will go for any wheel size, but considering resale, a 29er will probably be the best bet, all depends on the entire package I can get within budget.

Thanks man

Hey, you are buying not selling. The guy WITH the 26" bike is going to suffer the resale knock not you.

You can therefore  buy a killer 26" bike for far less than an equivalently spec'ed 29er and will probably be able to sell it for close on what you paid when you want to sell.

Eddy is right, don't buy a bike looking at resale in the future. Most bikes have no resale value. You buy to ride. Titan is good IMHO. The frame is probably all Titan make the rest is Shimano or some other common component. The frame won't break on you unless you smash into a wall at 40km/h but then again you will also be in your M. Most frames are made in the same factory with the expensive top brands coming from there own factories. Spez and silverback come out of the same factory it's only components that differ. One choosing Shimano the other sram. Titan have made big advances in their designs but in the mid range they are pretty stock standard
