Commuting Table View to Woodstock

Hi all - I'm pondering commuting to work a couple of days a week, from near Bayside to Searle Street in Woodstock.

I see many people cycling on the drive in so I assume its relatively safe along the cycle lanes, but I'm not sure about where to get off the BRT/Cycle Lane into Woodstock.  I presume at the station, but how safe is it from there?

Anyone ride this route?

TIA

PM Hairy, they have a daily commute bus on that exact route that you might want to join.

The place to get off is Church Street at the Old Castle Brewery. At the Woodstock Station there is a foot / cycle ramp that takes you up to Church Street. The traffic there is usually slow and at a standstill, so, safe. The Church street station area as well as the section of the cycle path from there to Paarden Eiland is dodgy from a crime point of view, but riding with a group solves that. Once into Woodstock, Albert or Main Road, to Searle Street, the traffic is thick, but during peak hours slow and relatively safe. I would not worry too much about crime there because it is so busy with lots of people around.

I ride this route daily, always alone. I take the bike lane from tableview all the way until you get to the Milnerton market, then carry on riding in the shoulder along marine drive (opposite the traffic - so sticking far right and obviously be vigilant) until the light's by the harbour where I cross over to the left hand side of marine drive and ride the rest of the way on marine drive until it goes over onto the N1, where I ride a short section of maybe 100m before the turn off to Albert road. Have been riding this route for years and feels safe to me. The dangerous part is the bike lane once you're in Woodstock!
