Rear Thru Axle removal

Needed the answer to grease/no grease but only found more confusion on the internet.

Some adamant that it should be, but differing on what is best to use. (from grease to light chain lubes)

Others saying completely unnecessary.

What's the deal and the right stuff to use.?

Nickel or aluminium based anti seize is the correct stuff for alu, and will prevent galling.

Copper based or grease will do in a bind, as long as you remove and refit the axle reasonably regularly.

Thanks again, Will get some grease before reinstalling.

The wheel needs to come out because the plastic thing that sits behind the wheel,  in the frame needs to come out. That needs to come out so that I can route the dropper cable  :whistling:

and it's out. 27.2 seatpost for leverage stuffed with a microfibre cloth and it turned like nothing.

Will eat more jungle Oats in future  ;)  :P
