Servicing Fox Fork and Shock

I have had the unfortunate experience of sending my bike in to service the suspension , front , rear and dropper post as the bike is 6 months old and don't want to affect  the warranties after my mate had to fork out 6K to repair his fork after 18 months as he never serviced it and his warranties were lost.

In the past I have always sent my bikes to Stoke for suspension works for services and received the bike back within 2 days but generally the next day and it was always done brilliantly and their team magically made the forks etc feel even better than new. Thanks guys

When I dropped my bike on Sat i was advised it would be ready on Tuesday . After calling bike shop on Wed They said Thursday maybe latest Friday . When I Called them today on Friday they said fork has gone to Omnico and can take up to 3 weeks. Is this normal ? Have other Hubbers experienced the same crap with their Fox products ?

3 Weeks is really gonna mess up fitness levels

Luckily my sons bike will go to Droo next month for its service

2years ago had a Fox Talas go for a Service at Omnico, was there for 9 weeks.

While waiting I bought a Pike and sold the Fox upon its eventual return.

Maybe the shop that sent it is overdue on their account at Omnico?

My fork has only ever been there for 4days or less. Drop the fork on Monday, had it back on Thursday, riding on again on Friday.

Hi

I ride FOX and only ever had excellent service from Ominco.

Often get it back the same day if I drop it off myself or

latest following day.

Ominco always seem to get a bad rap but I only ever had top draw service from them...

It sounds more like a lbs problem to me than Omnico.

If you dropped your bike off on a Saturday how would they know it would be finished by Tuesday,I doubt your fork even got to Omnico by Tuesday.

Did your lbs try service themselves, then run into trouble, then try send it to Omnico?

As far as I know Omnico only deliver once a week to different shops so if Tuesday is they day they normally visit your lbs you would only get it back the following Tuesday ( unless you fetch yourself from Omnico which you can do)

If your lbs only contacted Omnico on Wednesday for your shock they would only fetch it the following Tuesday as that is your lbs “ Omnico day.

More info is needed.

You should of just taken it to Stoke or taken and fetched from Omnico yourself

Would of been done in a few days

Only way for the LBS to have it ready on Tuesday, would have been for them to service it themselves.

Omnico is closed on a Saturday, IF there was a courier collecting from the LBS on Monday, they will receive it by Monday afternoon and it will then go into the workshop queue.  Soonest they would look at it will be Tuesday, depending on the workload. Plus another day to courier it back to the LBS.

Sounds more like the LBS stuffed something up which they could not fix themselves and only then decided to send it to Omnico midweek.

Normal turn around time from Omnico is pretty good, around 4 days.  If the LBS is saying 3 weeks, perhaps something that broke needed to be ordered??

As a side note I’m seem more and more bike shops entering the fork and shock servicing game as extra income without realising its more than just having the instructions which were downloaded off the internet.

Most are too cheap to invest in the proper tools needed so often you end up with a mechanic with google and crap tools doing the service.

I’ve seen on more than one occasion lbs making Cock ups only to then tell the customer sorry it has to go to the agent.

IMO fork and shock service should be done by agent or specialist like Stoke who have the experience and proper tools.
