Bike Rack Straps

I've used the 4 bike and 2 bike thule rack over the years...I've always threaded a tie down strap through front and back wheel (closest point rim to rim)...wheels can't spin and the front end is now locked ...on longer trips i've always used a second strap around the towbar and toptube .

Sadly this product has NOT worked for us .... when you start driving the "thick bit" rotates, the strap becomes loosened and things start moving about ....

 

I litterally cut the thickened section off the one strap .... it now sort off works in limited applications.  The other strap has not been used in 2 years.

 

 

 

Sorry Bikalot, but this product was a let down to us.

 

 

 

Have used Imbi's for a good few years with no issues at all, carrying two bikes on the rack we use. Never once had an issue with them coming undone or twisting.

 

Best product around as far as I'm concerned (along with pipe insulation to stop any paint rub).

Thanks for the pic Tom. 

 

Gave the straps and the Imbi a test over the weekend and after a bit of fiddling, I managed to figure it out and the bikes were super stable and no movements at all!
