Assistance with bike rack for Ford Fiesta 2012 model

Dear biking community

 

Me and my husband recently bought mountain bikes are very new to the biking world. We wanted to buy a thule hatch bike rack but it didn't seem to fit our car. We do not have a tow bar and a roof rack is too expensive for now. Does anyone know which hatch bike rack (not on the tow bar) fits a ford fiesta 2012 model (with a wing/spoiler)? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thule has a good catalogue and will tell you what they have.  They ARE conservative, and dont cater for many of the modern hatch backs - certainly did not for my previous car.

 

 

HOLDFAST is another popular brand, available at most bike shops.

 

 

1 or 2 others as well, sure others will give the names of these ...

 

 

PS - having tried the various options, I do prefer the towbar mounted platform racks.  ... but clearly too expensive if you will fit the towbar just for that.  The roofrack options are expensive the first time round, for the next car you replace the "foot-pack" that attaches to the car and re-use the racks and mounts.  Thus a worth while investment ..... just remember to take the bikes off before driving into the garage ...

Unfortunately with a spoiler, you cannot use a hatch fitted rack as you cannot tighten the straps enough without damaging the spoiler

Lol my previous car was the fiesta ST

 

I had a removable tow bar fitted and took the straps through the wing and just put a piece of sponge under the strap so not to scratch the wing... wasn’t ideal but [emoji23] kept the bikes stable and ... cruising speed a little above the limit .
