YAY! 1 small hitch, my new bike has a 142 X 12 thru axle at the back which means my quick release skewer (for my basic/generic indoor trainer) will not do. Any have any advice on where I can get a trainer adapter for my rear axle for a reasonable price? My local bike shop doesn't have any in stock and are unable to locate or order one for me and online searches are not bringing back much

This is why I use on my disc bike : Basically the axle is a lot longer than the original one so that the threaded part sticks out on the other side, you put the nut on the other side and voila This is the diy version, that is probably going to cost you one quarter of the price, but will probably be a bit lose and do damage to your bike overtime. I'd be a pigeon an pay R800 for a bolt and keep my bike safe, than using my two left hands to try and craft something that will damage it Edited November 30, 2020 by Jbr

If it is a direct drive then your trainer will have a free body on it so just buy any 12 spd cassette that will fit Sunrace is the best priced with 11-50 range You were not thinking of removing the cassette from you rear wheel every time you want to use the trainer? If you have a wheel in trainer then just put the bike on.
