Commuting from Vorna Valley to Edenvale

Hi guys,

Looking to commute to work from Vorna Valley to edenvale anyone perhaps knows what the best route is. It can be mtb or road.

I would go through Waterfall estate onto Woodmead drive past Kelvin on Northway and then onto Marlboro round the back of Limbro Park.

 

I don't know about the Safety factor though

I rode through Linbro 2 - 3 times a week, but I was riding to and from Sandton. Never had any problems, apart from the odd bunnyhop over sewage. Andrew64 and I were commuting buddies. He rode most days, probably still does.

Which part of Edenvale?

 

Linbro Park and Modderfontein are so built up now it is probably a lot "safer" than before in terms of you not riding in the middle of nowhere with no one near that can witness something. There are new roads now that go from busamed side through to long meadow side. There are so many new complexes in that area now. 

 

I think AdamA' route is probably the best. 

 

What time of day will this be?

 

One thing for sure is you will do a fair amount of climbing in both directions.

In the 80's i commuted from Boksburg to Marlboro at least 3 times a week . Yes the hills are plenty and back then the traffic was fine even leaving work at 4 was a breeze . Mountain biking had just started in those years so only rode road and that was a good training ride of about 30km one way .
