Hey Guys,

Would be awesome to hear who has entered the first Chardonnay event (or any of the other two) and hear how your training is going :)

Feels like time is flying and my training has hit a brick wall hahaha. We are entering just to finish. For the past 3 months we have been doing Cadence in Tygervalley twice a week and longer rides on the weekend.

Am I the only one who is stressed hahahahahaa

Shiraz - training is on track. Last race for 2019 for me after that its just base (including DC) till Christmas.10 days off and then we're into 2020

Don't stress it. W2W is a very enjoyable event if you remain calm and don't try to win it in the first 8km.

Registraton tends to be a stressful affair as everyone feels the need to share their training plans, FTP, 4D power profile, bike hardware and setup and why yours is wrong, nutrition advice, weather forecast and bangmaak stories from the previous year.

Last year I was listening in on a conversation. Two mixed teams stared the psychological warfare in the registration queue. I asked where they're seeded. "J " came the reply....

my team was seeded B but we dropped back to F or G for day 1 as my team mate wasn't fit enough for B. Had a chilled 3 days

Chardonnay for me, training on track and at the moment trying to climb 2500m a week split over 4 rides (2 zwift and 2 long weekend rides)

That said my partner has had the flu some many times in the last month I suspect we will be riding slow and heading for the beer tent :)

Doing Chardonnay, 5th, seen all sorts of weather conditions, 42C last year day 2, then the fire scare Pinotage Enjoyed every single one of them. Head winds and squalls of rain day. 3, 2016, I think. I have NEVER climbed more than 1500m a week in training, C and D batch mostly. Let’s hope for fine weather and we know we’ll have fine wine, in 2019. All the best to all trainees . We’ll suffer together soon

Will be my first one as well, also Chardonnay. Training has been hampered by rear shock issues, bikeless for 2 weeks and then nasty fall on Tuesday. Still feel pretty strong and will get back onto the saddle tomorrow. Not racing to compete, just to enjoy, just need to convince my super fit partner of that last part ????
