  1. Search Thingiverse - Thingiverse There are plenty of options and designs online. a lanyard is essential as my normal 3d printed garmin mount has broken while descending on some rocks and the lanyard kept it from falling off. i see there is a screw under the battery charging rubber that could be used to attach the lanyard. Are you looking for someone to print it?
  2. Sigh, we haven't ridden that section in years because it just isn't safe.
  3. Hey Are you going to ride the bikes off the trainer or will they be dedicated to the trainer? The wheel on trainers are the cheapest but do your research. what i have heard is that they often require a dedicated tyres or it eats through your tyres, obviously this depends on how strong you are. I have a direct mount one and it just works, but i do have a dedicated bike on it and two saddles for my wife an I.
  4. Hi I've been using a petg 3d printed computer mount on my MTB but the problem is that they do break, this is fine as my garmin has that little safety elastic but the varia does not have that elastic so if the mount breaks its hitting deck and you will most likely lose it. if you can solve this problem please post
  5. I would love to know the volume difference between the two. there seems to be way more MTB brands than motor cycles and MTB companies have much lower volumes so my guess is that there is no scale so unit prices are high.
  6. Hi I bought some from Solomans cycles in woodmead. It wasn't the rockshox one but the maxima one which is the same thing.....or at least thats what the internet says. But prepare yourself, its not cheap. I also got the Sram butter there which you can use on your bushings. I've used normal fork oil in my mrp (lowers and damper), fox oil and fork oil in my fox forks and maxima in a SID.....they all work well. Good luck
  7. On our rides at least 90% great back, some mean it and others don't.....and that's normally when the race starts
  8. find the one that your stomach handles best as each person can have very different needs. It took me a while to figure out on how to push my stomach and I settled on a Sugar and Game bottle mix that I know other people cannot drink.
  9. I think alot of valuable stuff has already been covered. I have a power meter on both my MTB's, 4iiii on one and a stages gen 3 on the other, both have been really good and the local service has also been great on both. We have debated this item in our little riding group and come to a simple conclusion, if you like data and analysing things you will most likely enjoy a PM.
  10. Seeing we talking chain wear, anyone running a Gabaruk cassette? if so what's the experience. I run XT with KMC, very good and has lasted through mud and dust....just rock solid and X01 cassette with XX1 chain which has lasted a long time but i think the XT might shift better and the cost to replace the XX1 is just crazy......XTR might be on the horizon with a Gabaruk cassette.

Ahhh Ok should have mentioned that I'm connecting via Ethernet cable and that I'm not using a VPN as the South African version covers the MTB racing. Maybe thats the common thread, VPN seems good, local connection bad.

Both on Iphone and Apple TV. Where do you check the Link speed? haven't seen this before.

Also terrible quality. XCC and DH replays and the XCO live today were all over the show. i have a 200mb/s line that i tested during the broadcast so it doesn't look like its down load speed related. if anyone fixes please share.
  14. Seeing this topic has a lot of knowledgeable people on it, can you bend the damper shaft if locked out and you take a big hit? And if it is locked out alot would the air side still compress a bit but cause the lower to twist at an angle into the bushing?
  15. Is the dust wiper tight on the stanchion? looks like there's a gap.
  16. Do you have any pics you can share?
  17. I have also been wanting to print something similar but the problem is that the material is still pretty unreliable from a strength perspective, for us weekend worriers at least.....so you have to plan for it breaking especially with a R3K device. so this will work but you need an elastic loop on the varia so if it breaks it can bounce around without falling off.
  18. We have been using fusion 360......I need a mouse. Had a part fall off my wifes car, plastic cover. Ended up buying a nice 3D printer and printing the item for just over the imported cost of the part...only took 10 prototypes I saw someone saying ABS, if you haven't used it yet try printing in PETG its easy to get right and you don't need to heat the printing environment.
  19. Hi Mine also decided to stop working except it tried to convince me i was MvdP before it let go. I got hold of 4iiii through their website and they were great in helping me get a replacement. Good luck 4iiii | Next-level Powermeter and heart rate innovation
  20. So my experience is with a mtb, but when i have had this issue its because I've put a new chain on a worn cassette. if that is the case i don't think there is a solve except to put the old chain back and ride it till it breaks....or get a new cassette. Hope this helps
  21. We have also avoided it for about a year and a bit now. We take a similar route but ride through saints to avoid William Nicol. Used to love that section. If you go up to Emmerentia that section below the dam wall is also not safe during the week especially that little wooden bridge by the split to go to Alberts or Emmerentia. A guy in our group had an incident there.
  22. So sorry to hear this, glad you ok. was this in Emmerentia?
  23. Hi From the Spruit Cafe to Emmerentia and Alberts farm is in good condition and busy on weekend mornings so i guess safety in numbers....i wouldn't ride it alone during the week. The worst section during the week is the bit just before Emmerentia, there have been many incidents there. The bit from spruit cafe back to Sandton is a gamble, we haven't ridden it in ages either because it got too dodgy, over grown or we had to ride through so much sewage we just gave up. That said the part from Riverside scouts to 12th avenue is still 100%. We skip the dodgy section by going from spruit cafe by road through saints and joining again at the scouts hall. enjoy
  24. Hi They in Joburg but maybe they know of someone in Cape Town. I had my Direto fixed and serviced by them and was happy with the work...been fine for at least 18 months. Home - Bicycle Doctor Good luck
  25. Hi I have had stanchion wear from the foam oil ring folding over when the fork was rebuilt....only noticed it when the damage was visible. That said i have had two forks where there is/was stanchion wear, the way I prevented further wear was to clean after every ride and change oil in the lowers at least twice a year, i did this by learning how to do it myself. I have found that the wear doesn't cause any reduced performance until its really really bad and you can feel the lowers have play and tend to chatter as you ride. At this point you can just get them replaced along with the bushings. look at ND TUNED STANCHIONS. i think there might be a couple shops installing these now. good luck
