I think these feelings of imagining violence against perpetrators of ill against her are largely a defense against feeling powerless in the face of the pains life inflicts on those we love and are charged and perhaps even biologically programmed to protect.

To me this is the origin of most of the tough talk one hears when this subject comes up. There are far more stories of women being hurt/abused than there are angry fathers/husbands/brothers shooting or maiming the offender.

Probably because most of the abusing is carried out by the fathers/husbands/brothers.

I find the tough talk quite silly.....the same when it comes to guns and knives and ninja type vigilantes

We have a few gay friends and occasionally go out with them.

As it seems the cliche goes...You’ll usually find lots of straight women frequenting these places too - arguably trying to escape the things they have to deal with at their normal hangouts i guess.

We’re pretty easy going when it comes to these things and usually go out as a group and play along. All in the name of having a good time out with friends. Its something we have been doing for almost 15 years now.

Somewhat related to this topic Ill say this though...i’ve lost count how many times i have been groped by women in some of these establishments.....

Do the clothes i wear when in there...the mannerisms i use...the fact that i’m very comfortable about my sexuality or perception about what is ok in there according to them - make it right for them to cop a feel too?

I agree...society is broken, but people are also hypocrites.
