I stand to be corrected .. but I think that the rims are the same, both made by Zipp.

Yep, that's how I have it as well. The Zipp rims are quite popular amoungst other wheel builds for carbon rims. Their 202, 303 & 404 rims are built onto various other hubs & spokes....

 

As for braking surfice, I would recommend the Coolstop pads, made specifically for carbon rims. I use mine on my Bora's and appart from when its REALLY wet, they work well. (Even managed to avoid a crash in the bunch on the recent 3-day PPA vets tour thanks to the stopping power...)

 

There are other options available, cork pads by Corima, Zipps own brakepads made for carbon rims. The cork pads are nice, but difficult to get hold of. (Ask Bikemax, he gets them directly from overseas occasionally)
