OMG STOP THE BUS!! The only thing worse couldve been if he had no helmet on!

Did you see the Barlow World guys on Supercycling last night riding with flipping Beanies? So my son says how come they can ride with Beanies and he has to where a helmet.

You should have said cos they ride slower than you my son.......LOLLOLLOL

I didnt want to state the obvious!!!!!

Maybe because they were not riding in SA, but in Europe?  (Don't know, I did not see the program), but I have shocking news for you:  You don't have to wear one in Europe!  Yes, shock horror, it is the truth.  How come you ask?  Well, it's safe here, so you don't need one to escape the angry Beee drivers (I meant the extra 'e'!)

Here in Holland, only wannabe racers wear helmets.  Kids and old ladies don't.

Ride with a helmet because it makes sense and it is the law in SA, but don't blame the Brloworld guys for doing what is acceptable elsewhere.

Well acceptable practice is not necissarly clever practice

The Hub being a prime example of this principle!

Anyway, nobody said pro cyclists are clever.  They are just very very fast (and sometimes clever by accident)

Hey, I don't need to be angry to ride over a cyclist!!!!Big%20smileLOL

I'm not so much peeved about the fact that he skipped the red robot, or even that he turned in front of me, but purely the fact that he knew he was wrong and didn't have the decency to even look apologetic!!Tongue

I know we all take chances from time to time, so I'm not judging, but jissem - not to that extent!!!

The problem is now, what happened if I did hit him and he died?? I'd be the one sitting with the crap on my plate, the sleepless nights cause I killed someone... not a nice thought!

Well, nothing serious happened so let's leave it there!

I agree, but in Neotel rider's defence: Why did he skip the robot?

Maybe he was already committed, maybe the synchronisation or settings on the traffic lights were out, maybe he heard a big truck behind him and thought he'd get flattened in he stopped suddenly ..... could've been many other reasons?

Maybe he didn't wave because he needed all his hands on the bars.

Good on you for looking before you pulled off ..... I wish more people were like you.

Saw our national road champ riding on the R59 heading north  about 5km from the blockhouse 1-stop at around 9 45 yesterday morning. He must have a death wish with all the trucks on the road that time of the day.
