Hey DC, I'm also thinking of taking this one for my upgrade.... Whats the catch? Do you have to buy the HR strap seperate the GPS side of it? extra monthly charges etc etc????

Mountie, I know Cyclelab Centurion also does 2 rides - a +-2hr and a +-4hr one on Saturdays, starting at 6... Very nice race pace for me!! hehehe

WEll done Lpeens!!! it's always great to reach the goal at this stage of the year!! Me and Nochain was actually discussing this topic on Saturday. I said I wanted a double crunch KFC burger when I reached my goal weight, and then we started thinking of better 'cheats' we can eat to celebrate.... Basically decided on a lekker full 3 course meal at Piatto or some Italian place (Caraffa)! Some Gorgonzola snails... a fillte stuffed with blue chees....chocolate filled pouches for desert, and obviously some devine coffee / dom pedro etc etc etc!!!

This was really an EXPERIENCE!!! Very tough and as Nochain said, so VERY rewarding!!! I love climbing, but at one stage I just thought enough is enough!!! where does it end!! heheheh We got through everything just fine, totalled one brand spanking new set of brake pads, and needless to say, nobody had any spares left by day 4!! Got a set eventually from Dana and then we were well away. I'm soooo glad I didn't have to start in the horrible conditions the frontrunners had on the time trial!! I just want to know how they did that last 10km's singletrack in the mud and with those litlle nasty dippies and stuff??!!! I could just about get my bike up those little nasty's (pushing and sliding and just getting seriously full of mud) how the hell did they manage?!

Simple, Buy a nice silverback hartail with good components (Full XT), sell the silverback frame and get yourself a special off the hub and rebuild using the components! Nochain bought me a Silverback on special from Karstens Cycles (full XT) and I got a Giant NRS full carbon dual suss of the hub for R4000, total spent on the whole bike was +-R13000.... I'm sitting with a very top end bike in the end!!

All the cars named are at least R100K more expensive than the Spark....

I drive a Chevy Spark and I can fit 2 x MTB's (if i put the backseat down, or I can fit any size road bike on the back seat, and only removing the front wheel!!! It's one of the cheapest cars on the market and I get about 17 - 21km p/l!!! (and believe me, I'm not one of those ladies that normally stick to the speed limit!!!!)

Ons gan van Hans Strydom af (by Lynnwood se hoek omtrent) ry so na Waterkloof se kant toe (daar naby Bester Cycles) en dan kry ons die groep naby Klapperkop. Ons gan seker so 6:30 / 6:45 se kan daar verby kom...

There's also the cycle lab ride on Saturday, starting @ 7 in Centurion... ave speed of approx 28kmp/h (maybe faster, maybe slower) for about 70 / 80km's... (I think...) Me and Nochain's starting in PTA east and the meeting up with them and then back, will give almost 90 - 100km's...

Hey, I don't need to be angry to ride over a cyclist!!!! I'm not so much peeved about the fact that he skipped the red robot, or even that he turned in front of me, but purely the fact that he knew he was wrong and didn't have the decency to even look apologetic!! I know we all take chances from time to time, so I'm not judging, but jissem - not to that extent!!! The problem is now, what happened if I did hit him and he died?? I'd be the one sitting with the crap on my plate, the sleepless nights cause I killed someone... not a nice thought! Well, nothing serious happened so let's leave it there!Beee2008-06-25 06:20:08

I almost had my score up to Beee 2 - Cyclist 0!!!!! I was at the robot and when I wanted to turn (arrow turned green ) this flippen Neotel rider comes speeding over the red robot and turns right in front of me!!! Not so much as a wave to say sorry, just a dirty look!!! I wonder what that look would have been if I hit him!!!
