Any advice on what rear derailleur (11 speed) will work with this Sram Rival shifters  (picture attached)

I want to fit a 40 - 11 cassette

Tried it with the short gage Rival derailleur (picture attached) and a hanger extender.  

Even with the hanger extender it appears the body of the rear derailleur is too short to reach the 40-tooth sprocket. (limit screws at max open) 

Also tried a 10 speed X9 rear derailleur - same issue ---body of the rear derailleur is too short to reach the 40-tooth sprocket. (limit screws at max open) 

Does Sram 11 speed road shifters also share the same pull ratio as mtb 11 speed Sram? I know this is the case for Sram 10 speed (both 1:1 pull ratio for road and mtb.
