Johnny 55 Posted March 14, 2020 Share I bought a new wheelset with hope pro 4 boost hubs. I also have a older wheelset with the same hubs only red and the new ones black. The red ones are much louder and on the hub it says 148. The new black ones does not say 148. It says hope hoops. Whats the difference between them? Thanks. MORNE Posted March 14, 2020 Share 110 (front and 148 (rear) is boost. the others aren't. I also have a boost set and the front has 110 printed on them and the rear has 148 printed on. before I had a purple set of non boost ones and they had nothing printed on. do they fit the same frame? are you sure the "non boost" ones dont have the conversion end caps on to make them boost? EDIT: sorry just realised you implied you baught a whole hope wheelset. in that case the hope hubs might look different only in branding. the noise difference might only be due to the fact that the new black ones are still packed with grease. they will get loader. Johnny 55 Posted March 14, 2020 Share Hi ok thanks now i understand. Never knew they would advertise boost hubs and sell you normal non boost ones. Is there a big difference between them? Yes the non boosts also fits my boost frame. Thanks for the info.

CAAD4 Posted March 14, 2020 Share They remain great products. I'm in the process of converting a Pro II rear hub to boost 148, thereby extending the use of my hubs by another 10 years.

CAAD4 Posted March 15, 2020 Share with end caps ? , cause boost comes down to flange width from each other effectively doesn't itIts a kit with end caps, spacers and longer screws for the rotors. First we have to transfer internals from a Pro 2 Evo 142 x 12 hub that I have spare, into my existing Pro II hub on the wheel, then add the new end caps and spacers, as a Pro II hub cant be converted from QR to boost directly. So now I will be running QR, 142 and 148 boost on the rear, QR, 15mm and 20mm on the front on my 3 bikes. All started as Pro II QR and all still running loud and smooth.
