My hub broke this weekend after +- 1year and 6months. Hub was recently serviced at the end of August. Lyne replaced them no questions asked no forms. Great service didn't expect that. Thats how you build trust in your product.

Fit & forget is a Hope hub. Spend the extra money.
I ran one for about 8 years + and when I sold it the original bearings were still smooth and the freehub still clicking nice and loud.

Esih those are R4.5k nowadays. I'm going Lyne Hyper instead - support local too.

Lyne hubs are superb for the price.
"Big" name brands have become a lot more pricy over the past few years.

The budget friendly hubs I'd recommend are:
Lyne
Cure
Rapide

If you insist on big international brands like Hope, DT Swiss, or i9, expect to pay significantly more.

Don't skimp on rims and spokes and nipples though - these are often the deciding factors when it comes to overall, long-term wheel durability.

Hope and DT are much more middle of the road now

350/Pro4/5

Obviously the 240s compete higher up.

i9 , crisking and the likes are so unattainable these days.

But beyond happy with hopes

Paid 5k for my rear hub and its been all smiles since 15months and original bearings still
