Hi

I am using Ultegra R8000 Dual sided PM, I got it last year in August, in October Stages replaced the left crank arm because of calibration issues. On Saturday I found that only my right side recorded data, went home, replaced batteries, updated the firmware to version 1.6.8. On Sunday's ride it was only picking up left, and power was a lot lower than what it should have been, as after 60km my NP was only 100 Watts. I deleted my PM from my Garmin, when I tried to add it again my ANT+ code was completely wrong. And didn't connect to my Stages at all after that.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

I would love to UPGRADE to something more reliable, but unfortunately with the current Economic challenges it's a bit of an expensive thing to do.

So would like to get what I am using working again for time being?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Strange you're having issues with the left side. It's a standard Gen 3 that has been pretty robust.

the right is known to cause data collection dropouts on some type of head unit.

I'd suggest you push for a full left right replacement and take it from there. Could also be the Garmin.

Before I used the Bryton Rider 530, there I had various drop outs etc. With the Garmin the data was solid. Until Saturday when it started with the connection problems.

Finally - thank you for the post cause this happened to me once i upgraded the firmware to the INFAMOUS 1.6.8, according to Stages USA as well as our local dealers, Im the only one in the world with this issue.

So what happened with mine is, I updated to 1.6.8 as per the stages app and now I can longer connect to my Garmin 520. the stages got sent to cape town (Dealer) where they checked everything, i sent them fit files of the last 3 races including the berge n dale race and told me there is no issue with stages device, it has to be my garmin.

After going back and forwards with Stages USA once I had tested with 3 other garmins and same result, the tech rep asked me to change the firmware back to the previous version and instantly it found my garmin. Soooo im currently using my gen 3 stages which is working beautifully on the version before 1.6.8.

Thanks for the reply, glad it's not just me, just a question, how do you change the firmware back to a previous version? Would like to try it out?

Thanks
