As far as I know, the bigger rotors offer greater stopping power. The rear brake slows you down and the front stops you. Of course this will all be verified/corrected by Johan Bornman when he logs on later...Ā

As Specialized is his main sponsor he has to ultimatley use theirĀ equipment first. Tyres, saddles, etc. That said the new Spech fork is rumoured to come in at less than his DT, 1340 grams. No idea why he was using a SID at the epic though.

That frame is a beaut though, comes somewhere in the sub 2kg region.

Scrubs 160's come in at 58 grams, 1 gram lighter than than the No Tubes one ;-)

the spez fork is proprietary (-spelling?) and has that tapered steerer tube, so unless there's an aftermarket kit, its the only fork you can run on the frame.....buts its still an inertia based fork - which not many people like tho.
