Saw a set of the DMR Versa Duals on a mate bike, and they look the business... so I've started looking.

The DMR are approx R3k (https://evobikes.co.za/product/dmr-versa-pedal/) but the SO is traveling overseas shortly, so I'm shopping there.

In the US, the DMR are approx $130, but I've found a few in the $50-$60 range which appear to have decent reviews on Amazon...

Specifically:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084GHV9MG?smid=A1C9T7ACO5T769&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/MZYRH-Mountain-Platform-Compatible-Function/dp/B09577ZKZJ?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1

Does anyone have any experience with any similar pedal, who can share?

The pins on those Amazon pedals don't look grippy at all. I have a pair of Crank Brothers Double Shot 1 and the flat side is terrible because of the cheap plastic pins which offer no grip whatsoever. Those DMR pins are the real deal and I would spend that extra money.

The first pedal you linked to seems like the sort of thing you would use if you rode clipless and occasionally wanted to ride to the shops in your trainers, the platform is pretty small at 80mm x 85mm, not sure what size your feet are, but I wouldn't be able to ride in flat shoes on those.

The second pedal has a much larger platform so probably better for flats.

My personal view, never having used dual sided pedals, is they're more hassle than they're worth.  I foresee great difficulty trying to clip in and having to spin the pedal to find the correct side, I'd rather go for a clipless pedal with a platform.  Or just ride  flats.

Here are the DMR pins. These are the proper shin eaters that you need on flat pedals.

Thanks... think you've pretty much sold me on the DMR's....

Unless there's another pedal someone else can recommend...

ARGH... ????

While they look good, they are an obscure brand, probably cheap Chinese. I would still go for the DMR's.

Both on special at Chain Reaction....

I wouldn't recommend the Funn pedals. I used to be the South African distributor for Funn, and they did make some awesome products and pedals. I just warrantied ALOT of those pedals with bent axles.... And seeing as there is no longer an SA distributor, that is going to be an expensive exercise if it happens to you.
