finished manuela ronchi's "man on the run: the life and death of marco pantani" - which my mate wolfie kindly loaned me -  a while back, and i've been meaning to post here to ask wht do you think about her? can't decide if she was genuinely interested in marco the man or marco the pay cheque. what do you think?

he is a Pizza Pasta Retailer from Benoni

and he was a local hero until his downfall at the regional tagliatelle champs when he tested positive for performance-enhancing pesto. he was found dead in the idlewinds trailer park. he is sorely missed.

yes true Hr, it is sad how one's inability to digest can cause so much heartache ... it was sad sad day for the Parmesan Gang when he was lost to the world.....did you ever see him compete at the Screwy Noodle Invitational ??

Don't mind the banter, but just wanted to say that seriously, he's probably one of, if not my favorite rider ever.

A legend

Can't wait for the first TdF mountain stage on Sunday

I haven't but have been meaning to since I read an article on him a while ago....will have a look for that one

What's the title?

simply, "the death of marco pantani: a biography". the ronchi book is a good companion to it, but i think rendell's book gives greater insight.

Hi HR

I believe the truth is probably somewhere in between. It is no doubt she is a hard nosed business person, one would expect no less in the cut throat (sometimes literally) world of Italian sport. I do get the impression she genuinely cared for the guy, however we should never forget he was her meal ticket too.
