There’s a big difference between carbon reinforced soles and a moulded carbon fibre sole. The latter is much more supportive to your feet and knees. All your leg strength is transferred to the pedal via the shoe. Flexible soles lead to all sorts of comfort issues and soft tissue injuries.

next , is the sidi the right shoe for you? Do you have wide feet or narrow ?

high arch or low

high volume heel or low?

I was doing some reading online and it seems that Sidi is generally a narrow shoe, which won't work for someone like me with broad feet, even though apparently the mtb/ gravel version is apparently a more  "forgiving" design in terms of comfort. So its back to the drawing board.
I hear that Shimano and Lake are the best options for a specifically wider shoe in a given size, so will look into those as well.

Definitely consider lake.
