Garmin HR monitor

Hi guys I have the dual HR strap.

But I can't get it to connect to my edge 830.... if I take the battery out and put back in my edge finds the HR monitor but then it eventually stops locating it after like 5 min. I've tried to reverse battery. But the HR monitor will always be found if I take battery out and back in which is weird...

Anyone have any tips? And places to get it repaired?

I stopped using my HRM-tri because of inconsistent connections. Haven’t had a days problem since changing to a Polar H10.

Try to Borrow a Belt to Prove if the Problem is in the Belt or the Headunit.

Assuming the Belt is the problem, Have You tried a brand new Battery (Out of the Packet) ?

Have you tried Wetting the Belt ?

Return it to Garmin if the Belt fails on Another HeadUnit or Watch.

Yea I'm actually just going to return it. But I have a few friends who's heart rate straps also die so I'm frustrated with garmin tbh

Two troubleshooting options to reset it (might not fix your issue but worth a try)

1. Take a safety pin, open it up and make contact with the positive and negative using each ends of the pin.

2. Reverse battery in for 20 seconds. Then install battery correctly.

 

Maybe your battery is almost dead?

Is there any other HRM already bound to your cycling profile in the Garmin 830? If yes, delete and search for sensor on the Garmin.

Don't bother with the Wahoo belt....probably worse. I've had 2 go bad.
